Winnie Denker Winnie Denker liked excessiveness, and saw possiblities in the impossible like Audrey Hepburn who said, «I’m possible.»
She asked for the illumination of the Egyptian pyramids at night and for a high scaffolding to take a picture of a mosaic floor in Syria. She had been so bent over, that the lens of her camera was about to crash on the ground without the vigilance of a quick hand guided by her guardian angel ... She lived with the treasures of the Scythian Gold, those of Phoenicia, Catherine the Great of Russia and she has held in her hands the heads of the great Chinese warriors during the restoration of the Forbidden City.
With the large size of her camera, that she loved for its incomparable nobility and depth of photographic quality - it was hoisted in the air by crane or heli- copter, taken to the Great Wall of China, Turkey, New Delhi, Singapore ... under the sun and on ice.
When Winnie Denker tells the story of her travels, opening all doors, even the most secretive ones, with her assurance and her smile, her eyes sparkle at the memory of all her wonderful encounters, either with the beings or the pieces of art that she took in her hands.
