The route of the Milanese exhibition starts from the discovery of the cities which marked the life and fortune of Tiepolo, Venice, Milan, Madrid to develop in chronological order starting from the second section.
His exercises performed for the school of the nude, a fundamental element in the training of an artist at the time, and his first Venetian works are thus revealed.
The discovery therefore continues with his Milanese experience through his drawings and sketches to continue on the German and Spanish periods. His exquisitely elegant painting departs from classical examples of Rococo works in their dramatic sobriety.
Tiepolo enriches the style with its original touch, playing with contrasts of light and shadow in a chiaroscuro imbued with radiance.
Thus in his frescoes, the central part often represents an azure sky dotted with immaculate and reassuring clouds. His graceful figures evolve soberly dressed in a serene atmosphere.
Tiepolo knows how to highlight details that evoke divine purity and the magic of love.
This Milanese exhibition pays this last great Venetian a vibrant European tribute.
