Cheverny has always been inhabited, so the pieces of furniture tell of very different periods from the arms room to the reception rooms. The interior decoration is famous for its coffered ceilings and sumptuous murals.
Cheverny is a heritage of stones and land but also of traditions with its hunting and kennel.
Every day at the same time, visitors can watch the tricolor Anglo- French dog soup show.
Hergé was inspired by the Château de Cheverny to design the iconic Moulinsart in the adventures of Tintin. The draftsman worked from documents, never visiting the premises.
He removed two wings from the building to create the famous home of his heroes, Tintin, Captain Haddock, Professor Tournesol and, of course, the adorable and faithful Snowy.
Cheverny is a place of memory and noble splendours to dream of being a Castellan for a day for a nice tour in the heart of a past in the present.
