The red and orange rooms of the Padua Museum showcase the black and white images of the famous Hungarian naturalized American war photographer, Robert Capa (1913 -1954) born Endre Ernő Friedmann.
Far from the world conflicts he witnessed behind his lens, Capa focuses on portraits of people known or unknown.
Capa overcomes the atrocities of wars because he loves people. Robert Capa was thus renamed by his companion photographer Gerda Taro who created his legend of American seducer out of love before succumbing during the Spanish war from 1936 to 1939. “Love people and let them know,” was his credo. His short but rich life and his photos will inspire his friend Ernest Hemingway to write his book,»For whom the bell tolls».
