Due to financial problems, she was forced to close her fashion house in 1954 and devoted herself to writing her memoirs. After her last sigh in 1973, her drawings returned to the Union Française des Arts du Costume in order to preserve her artistic heritage and pass it on to new generations.
Her nickname «Schiap» alone sums up her cocktail of humor and poetry, the style of a totally avant-garde woman, marvelously free in her creativity.
