The exhibition «Songlines, song of the tracks of the Australian desert» was produced in collaboration with the Australian National Museum.
This journey follows the mythical tale of the «Seven Sisters», the seven stars of the Pleiades star cluster as they flee through the deserts to escape the relentless hunt of a sorcerer.
The territory plays an essential role at the heart of this epic which mixes tragedy and comedy like the Greek myths to tell the creation of the Earth. Like Hellenic culture, the stories present gods who transform themselves to seduce the women they desire but dissociate themselves from them by the bawdy coloring of these more bawdy amorous adventures.
Elders from the three deserts, and from the Martu, Ngaanyatjarra and Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) language groups, tell the story of the “Seven Sisters” throughout the exhibit.
