In the third section, food becomes, thanks to the clichés dedicated to the stars of the time, a true symbol of wealth and pleasure. Stars and famous people like Marylin Monroe, Ronald Reagan or Alfred Hitchcock are then hired as brand advocates. Food became a star when Warhol made Campbell’s soup a work of art.
The fourth section entitled “From producer to consumer” highlights the production chains of food until its consumption.
A journey between attraction and disbelief, technology allows mass production and on the other hand, faced with this intensive bulimia, the desire is born to abandon this too fast mode to return to sustainability and quality.
The last section «The Sacred Table» analyzes the role of food in different religious traditions. It becomes a symbol of life and death between festivities, sacrifices and prayers. Daily bread is a symbol of the body of Jesus Christ and of the specialties of religious festivities. Jewish women are linked to biblical episodes as it was customary to offer food as offerings in the time of the Greeks and Egyptians.
An incredible gourmet and magical journey that revives taste sensations but also all the events that are inseparable from it...
a real Proust madeleine...
