Antoine Poupel’s mastery must be impeccable because highlighting the woman who dresses the bodies during performances, with elegance and sensuality, is not ne- cessarily an easy exercise. Vulgarity has no place here nor with the photos taken behind the scenes or during rehearsals.
During these three decades, Antoine has survived all the changes of management, there is no doubt that he is considered a member of the family.
It was also about family when he spent twenty-five years with Bartabas, founder of Zingaro. This horse lover expresses himself with the equestrian show. As with the ani- mal, it takes time to build an exchange around a common vocabulary with the people who accompany it. He believes that people are not hired at Zingaro just to fill a role. It takes charm, loyalty and love.
Once again, Antoine ticks all the boxes. He immerses himself in the world of this acrobat who dances with the horses to capture and immortalize the beauty, the emo- tion and the palpable complicity between man and animal. During all these years, he puts the different paintings from all the shows in his magic box. His extraordinary images to which he adds his dose of poetry will be the subject of a marvelous work of art published by Editions du Chêne.
