MEP - Maison Européenne de la Photographie presents «Music + Life», the first retrospective of British artist Dennis Morris in France. For the first time, a selection of his photographs captures his youth in London with iconic portraits of Bob Marley and the Sex Pistols, emblems of pop culture.
Dennis Morris has developed intimate relationships with legends that he has been able to capture in his lens with complete confidence. He has revea- led little-known facets of their intimate personalities and has created real connections with Marianne Faithful, Bob Marley or Oasis.
His artistic versatility has allowed Dennis Morris to help shape the image of these artists, transforming them into icons and reinventing the way to promote music. Passionate about music and photography, he has been able to render with authenticity and depth this multicultural England marked by immigration. His photographs are always full of tenderness and he captures the essence of black culture in its pride and dignity beyond often precarious living conditions.
