Goya was a precursor of the pictorial avant-garde of the 20th century, he claimed to have no masters other than «Velasquez, Rembrandt and Nature». In love with freedom, he refused artistic obligations to embrace his art in its full and profound creativity.
His stylistic ruptures were very important throughout his career and they were always linked to his vibrant moods in each canvas and conferring this unique personality to his work.
