F rom that day on, Mathias Kiss decided to work outside the box. To move
from the background to the forefront, to deconstruct this box, this training that
had so confined and restricted his creativity.
The way was open for trompe l’oeil, monumental works, installations, and perfor-
mances.
A creation whose mission and duty would be to make people think and question
in order to move forward. The work «Just do it,» created in 2010, crystallizes this
approach.
From his initial training, he retained the rigor and high standards that can be
found in the radiant atmosphere of his studio, where brushes are arranged with
great method; where matrices, plaster casts, molds and samples remain sources of
inspiration.
It is obviously the box that he attacks by deconstructing it. Skies, iconic in the
great French decors, are also one of his playgrounds. From classical composition,
he brings them to a modern level by pixelating them.
