His masterpiece in this field is undoubtedly the sky created across the entire
glass roof of the Lille Museum of Fine Arts, entitled «Need for Air.»
This poetic ex-nihilo installation played with perspectives and the volume of the space
to encourage us to take a different look at the surrounding space, thus exploring the
boundaries between art, decor and architecture. The new exhibition he is currently
offering us in his Parisian studio confirms his uniqueness and marks a new phase in
his work. «Watch You Burn» is a manifesto exhibition presenting a selection of key
works, such as deconstructed frames and crumpled mirrors, alongside new creations
specially designed for the occasion.
The minimalist scenography in this underground space, resembling a «white cube,» is
highlighted by an original composition by musician Nicolas Godin of the band Air.
The overall atmosphere is both poetic and disturbing.
The artist and his powerful, committed, and engaging works encourage us to reflect
on the excesses of our society and the search for meaning; a true reflection on our
contemporary society.
