Under the April sun, Milan sparkles during the week of its famous Milano
Design Week. The Salone del Mobile is the institutional design event, a huge
trade fair where all the latest technological and aesthetic innovations in interior
design are revealed.
But in recent seasons, the Fuorisalone, the «Outside the Salon,» has become the
true protagonist of this Milanese week, with its monumental and unique instal-
lations in historic showrooms as well as in more private residences. Married to
fashion, design in its most vibrant and eclectic form no longer presents products
but true lifestyle experiences for visitors who feel as if they are interacting with
these fabulous settings.
The ninth edition of Alcova 2025 took place in Varedo, about thirty kilometers
from the city center. Four different and fascinating locations host marvels of
creativity. The ancient Villa Bagatti Valsecchi with its large park, the charming
Pasino greenhouses, the elegant modernist Villa Borsani, and the former Snia, a
disused factory, open their doors and reveal their secrets.
Villa Necchi Campiglio, a magnificent example of 1930s Art Deco, houses the
Occhio lamps, true mechanical masterpieces, in its glass pavilion. At Palazzo
Litta, MoscaPartners presents an installation of a large golden cage by LcD Tex-
tile Edition, featuring fire-resistant metal thread fabrics, in its majestic Hall of
Mirrors. In the sophisticated simplicity of Palazzo Alari Visconti, Spaccapanico
has created several settings that recall the beauty and sensitivity of his Umbrian
origins.
Frescoes and parquet floors from historic venues blend with the most refined or
outlandish scenographies.
By crossing the thresholds of these hidden spaces, the Fuorisalone Milanese
2025 thus establishes itself among the unmissable international events,
offering its visitors the pleasure of savoring new and unique
experiences in mysterious worlds.
