to Michel Pierre, the Musée des Confluences, and private collectors, the Saline
Royale is paying the most beautiful tribute to this wonderful artist this summer,
marking the 30th anniversary of his death.
Exploring the world of an artist each year, the Saline Royale team has dedicated
itself to following the hero whose fortunes are traced with a single stroke of a
razor, the handsome adventurer, Corto Maltese.
Following Corto by opening a Hugo Pratt book is an invitation to travel the
world, from Monk Island to the continent of Mu, from the frozen deserts of
Siberia to the Swiss pastures.
From Venice to Hong Kong, Hugo Pratt takes his readers on a journey to the
haunting rhythm of whirling dervishes or the mysterious chant of a Celtic harp.
In his wild conquests, Corto moves from the poisonous Venexiana to the sweet
Pandora who almost killed him. Hugo Pratt uses his watercolors to expand time
and suspend it in a silent flight of seagulls across the Pacific sky.
