The idea was born to take the place of a meeting between Gianni Frasi, roaster at the «Laboratorio Giamaica Caffé» in Verona, the two brothers Massimiliano (three times stars) and Raffaele Alajmo owner
of the restaurant «Le Grille» in Padua and the «Gran Caffé Quadri»in Venice.
David Lanher, a young Parisian entrepreneur, restaurateur of the «Racine» and the «Vivant» has joined the team. Renovation and decoration were entrusted to the architects, Dominique Averland and Philippe Starck, who have preserved the historic soul of the place by retaining its magic and sublimating its charm.
The ‘Caffé Stern « reminds one of a curiosity cabinet in a fairy tale. A stuffed wolf and a lynx welcome visitors who go to discover seven small private rooms before meeting behind a fireplace, a white rabbit
well hidden in Wonderland.
Period parquet, carved woodwork, cordovan leather on the walls, antique mirrors, huge drawers and lamp Murano mingle with grace to the decorative elements dear to Starck: stools and high tables made of aluminum, blond leather banquettes decorated with silk-screened pillows, lamps with hats of mad Hatter
as lampshades.
