5.Coffee A real Coffee culture was introduced in South Africa, and the daily consumption of good coffee in great coffee shops or coffeehouses have gifted the city. This was originally a place where people from many different levels of society could debate political and social issues of the day. It took ages to learn the sophistication of coffee and that’s taking ages to appreciate the complexities of democracy. But the two go together, as indicators on a social barometer. The greater the choices are given to the consumers, the more they have been assimilated into a globalised culture. The rise of a coffee culture is analogous to the growth of social freedom…..let’s people have many choices ...In culture as well as in coffee. There are so many, but my favourite one is “Bean There” fair trade coffee shop on 58 Wale Street, a few blocks from Long Street. Exquisite decoration, fantastic welcome, everything there is just perfect.
